Subject: hull supports on trailers

On the about 80 different trailered baots I've had here's what all we've used to cover pads: Astroturf: used it in the 70's and 80's on Finn trailers and star trailers. Can abrade the finish and cause blisters. Ribbed rubber: used on Mumm 30's, and stars and Melges 24: works great, as it won't trap water. I think Ralph's idea's great also. You guys are a very helpful group of people, I'm hoping to join you soon. Dave

:: Carpet pads covered with polyethelene have worked for
:: me. Just staple heavy gauge polyethelene over the wood
:: pads. The plastic prevents accumulation of moisture.
