Subject: A Great Loss
Info: (15962 views) Posted: Wednesday 2-6-02 03:13:00 PM
As you all probably now know, Carl Schumacher died last night of an apparent heart attack at home with his wife, Marilyn. I have been privileged to be able to work and sail with Carl for the last twenty years and his passing leaves not only a large void in my life but also one in the sailing community that he loved. He was not only a brilliant designer and one of the nicest people I have known but also a friend. We all owe Carl a debt of gratitude for not only the great designs he produced but also for the way that he lived his life.

I will miss him.
