Subject: OYRA - MORA e27 Season Entries
Info: (21060 views) Posted: Sunday 4-8-07 10:13:24 AM
The next OYRA MORA ocean race is on April 21; the Duxbury LightShip. This is a great sail up the coast off Stinson Beach, out to Duxbury Reef bouy, then to the LightShip and return.

MORA Entries & Spring Series Racing

Four e27s signed up for the MORA Season; Attack from Mars, Desperado, El Raton and Xena. Another seven capable entries round out the fleet including Antrims, Moore Olsons, J90 and one offs. You can still enter this series.

MORA is split into two trophy season; spring and fall, which combine for the overall season.

e27s are more favored in the (typically) windier Spring Season. The Fall Season is typically sees lighter winds than in the Spring.

Consistency can win the series overall.

Spring Series is:

LightShip - See e27 results Duxbury LighShip - April 21 NorthStar - 5/12 Drake Bay Overnight Raft Up Return - June 9.

And don't forget the Monterey Race on 5/25-26. I know at least three skippers have talked about doing this race. All interested please advise on this board.

e27s won the Monterey Race overall until the RC changed rating system from time-on-distance to time-on-time. e27s remain the division favorite.

Its easy to trailor to Monterey. Just drop the trailor off in the MPYC yard, truck at the City Park Parking Lot one block away, and to get back to the Bay Area, the bus picks you up in downtwon Monterey, goes to Amtrak San Jose, where you take the train to Richmond Amtrak/Bart Station ($12 total fare and its a fun ride back in the club car), followed by a $5 cab ride back the Brickyard Cove.
