Subject: Re: halyard replacement

Replaced all of my halyards on #49 this summer and used Spectra T900 and pleased with the results. No creep and very light. Both Jib halyards were 65' each but easy to measure your own. I always buy a little long to be sure. Used the same on the main halyard also. I understand some boats may be going to Spectra for teh backstay but didn't do so myself.

>>I have to replace the jib halyard on Hull #111 this year. Any suggestions on material, brand or size? What are people using? What works? What doesn't? Also, what shackles work best? The one on the halyard now requires high efforts to release and I am thinking of replacing it as well. Suggestions?
