Hi:

I've had three different #4s on the Desperado. 1 80% hoist 80% and 2 75% hoist 75% . . . I prefer the smaller (for ocean in particular), although, most boats have the larger.

Racing 4's require tracks ahead of the shrouds otherwise your stuck with a high clewed cruising sail.

Check the Desperado for placement (disregard the outboard tracks).
