These are legal as are the spring loaded kickers.

I wouldn't be quite so sure that a true hydraulic vang wouldn't fall under the "exotic" clause in the rules. But that's moot as I'm sure most would agree such a set up would be overkill. Elbow grease and a strong crew is enough to max out any control in a stock configuration on an Express 27 IMHO.

Although I'd be willing to bet Buzz would like the idea of hydraulic vangs, he'd make a killing in making new booms. ;-)
