Subject: Long Distance Fun Series - July

July LD/Fun Series Race Suggestion:

For July I'm advocating Midnight Moonlight on apprioximately the 5th, although, iot could fallon the 12th this year..

This is a great longer race that is a reverse start catch up. E27s all start together around 4:30 to 5:30 in the afternnoon. The race starts in Racoon Straits off Corinthian and goes around the south tower of the Carquinez bridge. The race usually finishes between 11:30 pm to 12:30 am. The bar at SFYC is open until 2am. We could stay for breakast the next morning.

Alternatives include the Plastic Classic around the 19th & 20th. There is a fantastic barbeque dinner dance on Saturday night. This is a two race regatta; one each day, that are 10 to 12 miles in length. This year the regatta may be Saturday only; two races back to back.

The final alternative is the Saturday second Half Opener on the 26th. This race starts at TI, goes around Bonita Bouy and ends at Encinal YC. There is a barbeque/party at Encinal following.

For LD/Fun Series I'm proposing at least one of these regattas, however, I'm not oppossed to doing two of them.

Midnight Moonlight is the true Long Distance Race. All have some sort of social function following.

For Real Fleet Series Simpson Regatta has been late in this month (last wekend) in the past.
