Check the guage of the stanchions. I bought new tapered stanchions
from Garhauer for about $18 each. They bent immediatly with the first
full crew hike. I replaced them with a set (not tapered) from
Svendsens, about $50 each, the steel was twice as thick. Hope they
hold up.
:: You might try Garhauer Marine. They have stantions in
:: there catalog that look close.

:: :: The stanchions on my boat are in need of replacement -
:: :: two of them were bent, and none of the four really
:: :: matched each other anyway. Is the original stanchion
:: :: just a straight tube with some type of ring at the top
:: :: that just goes directly into the (interior) glassed-in
:: :: receptacle at the deck level? A couple of the stanchions
:: :: on my boat had a diagonal strut that went from the deck
:: :: to part way up the main piece. The diagonal strut didn't
:: :: seem to provide improved strength, as one tube was bent
:: :: at the upper attachment point for the strut.

:: :: If there is someone who wouldn't mind my looking at
:: :: their boat so that I could take some photos, I'd greatly
:: :: appreciate it. This coming weekend isn't good for me,
:: :: but perhaps next?
