Does the PHRF rating take the 880 pound weight limit into
consideration?
The only good reason I see for increasing the weight limit for
distance races is to make the boats more competitive with other
classes.
Obviously there is an advantage to having a small driver..but so
what?
get yourself a small driver.
there are so many classes where it is an advantage to bigger no
matter what position...and even classes where it is good to have a
small driver it is really hard to find big crew that likes to take
orders or knows how to move their big weight properly. When you are
bigger you have more control over where the weight is and that is a
huge advantage. You are also usually stronger when you are bigger.
also an advantage.
Big people run this sport and the world too. probably will never
change.
