An epoxy barrier and VC17 came with my boat when I bought it. Switched to VC Offshore this year and wet sanded to 2000 grit then burnished. This seems to be the best solution in this area and the boat is extremely fast. Offshore is fortified with teflon and is a nice thickness to wet sand. VC17 is super thin and wet sanding will take what you put on, off. Hope this helps.
