Subject: Target Boat Speed Upwind
Info: (19015 views) Posted: Thursday 6-3-10 04:04:29 PM
New to the Express here in Hood River OR ( The Gorge ) and I'm starting to get the boat dialed in. We do not have any other Express' to tune against and I don't see a chance to get to SF Bay until the Fall at the earliest, if this season at all. I've set the boat up according to the guide in the Articles section.

90% of our racing is with the #3 (18+). Downwind we are dialed. Upwind we are fast, but it's hard to tell without another boat to compare to.

Assuming our speedo is calibrated correctly, what should we be shooting for with the #3 up going to weather?

We have a couple well sailed Moore 24's here. How should my upwind performance compare with theirs - pointing and boatspeed?

Thanks for the help. Absolutely love the boat.
