Author: Ralph Deeds Subject: Express 27's in South Carolina? Info: (11927 views) Posted: Saturday 1-14-12 07:51:07 AM |
:: I didn't realize South Carolina had an Express 27 fleet.
::
:: Just fyi, the boat doesn't sail to it's PHRF rating in
:: light air (a Moore 24 can sail downwind as well in light
:: air, and their rating is much better).
::
:: If you plan to race the boat (why would anyone want an
:: Express 27 if you didn't), and If there isn't a class,
:: you may want a different boat.
::
:: Just sayin'...
Outside of San Francisco where the winds are lighter E27 PHRF ratings are considerably higher. We do pretty well in Detroit compared to most other boats with our 138 PHRF rating. I don't know what the rating would be in South Carolina, but I suspect it would be higher than in San Francisco.
