Author: Jason Subject: More rules talk, this time life lines Info: (12045 views) Posted: Thursday 12-20-07 06:55:15 PM |
I really appreciate your input and you taking the time to post your thoughts and concerns. I really think this kind of participation by ALL owners is what is needed.
In response to your suggestion, I have a few comments.
1) The current rule does not prevent you from using longer stanchions, it only limits you to how short they can be. 2) You mention "foam" or something of that nature. I assume you are talking about the cushions that go outside of the lifelines. There is nothing preventing you from adding the foam covers to make the hiking more comfortable on your crew.
Last I heard, we were in the process of re-writing this portion of the rules. I think measuring from the deck up would be a better way to enforce this rule. You are correct that the 5 lb thing is pretty ridiculous.
Cheers, Jason
