Desperado lived on a bouy in Clear lake at one time. Rather than a bow eye on the leading edge of the prow, a large schaefer 4 'flat head' bolt pad eye (1/4 or 5/16th) is bolted on the very bow (pointy end) of the deck forward of the bow light. Works great for mooring everywhere.
