I don't know much about the Sonoma 30 off the top of my head, but the boats were built around the same time as the Express 27. I'm not sure how many were built.

As for the Sonoma 30's step-child, it's the Sonic, not the Synergy. A builder in Pt. Townsend, WA saw the Sonoma 30 in the early 90s and wanted to build a slightly updated version. He worked with Carl on the design and apparently built several boats. I don't know where they are now. Incidentally, this builder is the same guy who built Express 27 hull #117...

The Synergy is a completely independent design, though those boats were also built in Washington State.

:: It is a Schumacer design and similar the the e27. I have
:: heard that the lines of the boat are basically what led
:: up to the Synergy1000 (without the bowsprit).
