Subject: Doublehanded Half Moon Bay Race June 27
Info: (22194 views) Posted: Tuesday 6-9-09 06:22:46 PM
Hi Everyone:

In the hotly contested Fun Series SSS double handed Half Moon Bay Race is coming up on June 27.

This is a low administration double handed event. Race is one way to HMB with cruise back.

Currently two boats are signed up. Among all e27 SSS members and supporters likelyhood of e27 class division is high.

Certainly we can muster 5 boats or better based on e27 SSS membership alone.

Additionaly there will be other sport boats to race against on time for the overall SSS HMB Compass Binnacle perpetual trophy. In a competitive sport boat fleet e27 top showings will show off the class in the overall standings. SSS usually gives away useful donated gear type prizes for this race and base ball hats.

Half Moon Bay YC is again holding their Steak (or chicken) barbeque after the race. Bar drinks are priced right. Funky low key atmosphere is a YC plus. There's a local bar with dancing right down the street from HMB YC.

I'll be contacting HMB Harbor Master and will notify them we'll need slips. Usually they place us in one big commercial boat slip. I believe overnight fee is $20 and will report back.

Right priced hotels in the area include Ramada Inn (closest) and Holiday Inn in HMB. There are bed and breakfasts closer but more pricey.

Mike
