Subject: Bottom paint (or lack thereof)

Our boat currently has rolled-on bottom paint and I am thinking of changing the finish. One choice would be to take the paint off entirely. The other would be to sand down the current finish and then have it spray-painted with Micron Extra. Does anyone have recommendations or other suggestions?
