Mike, Glad to see your boat is out racing. The 880 weight limit remains in effect. Hope to see Desperado racing at RYC for The Nationals in August. Best, Peggy.

:: I again suggest the 880# weight limit is discouraging
:: much broader fleet participation.
::
:: That a cadre of oligarchs who maintain system control
:: are continuing to promote a caste system discriminatory
:: to owners and crew in excess of 200#.
::
:: That there was no crew weight limit when I first
:: purchased the boat. And that lite people took over the
:: system when the 1000# followed by 880# weight limits
:: were imposed.

:: Boats with drivers > 200#s are slower than boats that
:: have less weight in the ends.
::
:: Crews where all members weight less than 180#s or
:: lighter have an exponential advantage because when
:: weight is removed from the rail the physics of the boat
:: are not effected.
::
:: At this point in the evolution of the light restraint, I
:: believe that caste system is now a core of 5 to 7 boats
:: limiting all other boats.
::
:: Which means in a democracy its time to change the rule.

::
:: :: Wt limit is 880
:: ::
:: :: :: I've had a crew bail and send there better half.
:: :: ::
:: :: :: On ease of administrating the extra ordinary logistics
:: :: :: of this race, I'm not going with four or underweight . .
:: :: :: . becuase frankly I'm not that aggressive or will ever
:: :: :: be . . . becuase quite franky I don't get paid for this.
:: :: ::
:: :: :: When it gets right down to it at my 240# is very
:: :: :: dificult to field a boat less than 1020. Any thoughts or
:: :: :: objections.
