If it's like mine, the cylinders on each side are threaded onto a tube that goes through the mast.

Move the rod exiting a cylinders so that the rod is perpendicular to the cylinder. The cylinders can then be rotated around the rod and unscrewed from the threaded tube.

When reattaching, do not tighten the cylinders tight against the mast. Leave a small amount of play so the cylinders can rotate with the rod.
