Thanks for the feedback. I thought I'd ask before bedding the base back down. I wasn't thinking a big move so that it wouldn't be over the bulkhead but I would think just an inch would make a big change. I just wanted to make sure that it was in the right place. My boat seems original but over the years of other owners who knows what could have been changed.

:: Also the current placement of the mast step is so that
:: it sits on top of the bulkhead on the underside of the
:: deck. If there's any reason not to move the mast step
:: I'd go with that one.

:: :: It would be a mistake to try to improve on perfection.
:: ::
:: :: :: Andy, Class rules would place mast step by the not
:: :: :: penalty pole J measurement; 1/4" this way 1/4" that
:: :: :: watywho knows. But I would keep it in line with the main
:: :: :: bulkhead support.

:: :: :: no, I don;t think the class rules have specified where
:: :: :: the mast step should be . .dl be

:: :: :: :: I have the mast step off of my boat and I was about to
:: :: :: :: bolt it back on but I started wondering about the
:: :: :: :: location. I don't see any measurements in the class
:: :: :: :: rules regarding location. Before I stick it back on,
:: :: :: :: does anyone know if this location has been played with
:: :: :: :: in the past on their boat.
