You can attach a line to the backstay that goes through the upper
inside corner of the stern pulpit and runs forward to the driver.
Just give it a jerk after you tack. At least that way you don't have
to run to the back of the boat or shake the boom around to unstick
it.
:: We have had the same problem with the top batten in
:: light air. We have yet to find an easy way to deal with
:: it without distracting the driver, moving someone to the
:: stern to deal with it or having the main pumped to get
:: the batten to pop into the desired form. It is not a
:: problem with enough pressure. How do other boats deal
:: with it?
