One of our Detroit sailmakers suggests that the Class might want to consider changing the mainsail rule to allow for the second batten from the top to be a full-length batten as well as the top batten. He says this would allow us to get another year or two out of our mains. It's common practice for PHRF sails. He says you can make a tired main look pretty good with a full length second batten. Seems to me like a good idea. Any comments?
