Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, only the original Lewmar hatches that came with the boat have hinges that can clear the lip you describe when mounted facing aft. These are no longer available new and exceedingly hard to find used.

I was able to find one on Ebay after a long time searching.

Otherwise, you'd have to build a riser all the way around the hatch hole to mount a new hatch if you want aft facing...
