Just another view- I do significant long distance cruising often motoring for 8 hours. I use a mercury 5 horse long shaft (with an alternator to charge the batteries). It is heavy to move on and off, but I see no issues with the mount, other than the obnoxious vibration inherent in the mount design. For serious transport I think you need 5 horse, for occasional use 4 would be better. Long shaft is a must for any serious use
