Another suggestion: If the wind is light or medium, assuming you are equipped with in-line lower shrouds, ease your aft lower shrouds way off before the start, and when going downwind, attach your jib halyard to the stem, ease the backstay and rock the mast forward by tensioning the jib halyard.
