Author: Steve Katzman Subject: What's your PHRF number? Info: (7566 views) Posted: Tuesday 1-13-15 08:10:30 PM |
:: The Express is a 132 (129 OD configuration with the
:: penalty pole) in San Francisco bay. Which I get in a
:: place that has an average of 15-25 knots. But I'm
:: finding the number is 144 throughout North America with
:: a few exceptions like Detroit(144 -6 for masthead kite
:: 138). My question is what does the Express 27 rate at
:: your club or fleet and what are your average wind and
:: sea conditions. Also does it sail to the number? Before
:: someone hits me with the good old screw handicap racing
:: sail one design I plan to in the bay but at my local
:: club I need a number. The average breeze is 8-12 flat
:: water.
Northern California PHRF 129 So Cal (Long Beach) PHRF 132, that is used by my club here on the South Shore Tahoe LTWYC seems to work as well as could be expected. SDK
