Desperado has fore and aft horizontals and vertical legs full legth foreward and half length aft. This is a little over built.
I've seen both sides 1/2 marine plywood frame glued and thru bolted which seems to work.
Two things to look for in assesment are the length of the forward legs, 1) do they extend to within 1/2 to 1 inch of the inside of the hull
They should not be retrofiitted to touch or compress into the hull..
2) Beyond the compression cracks is whether or not the bulk head is actually warped forward from the forward base of galley and chart tables If not, it might be a simpler fix.
Its harder if you have to relieve the bulkhead upright and into a vertical plane agiain.

:: My deck supports on #107 are 2x2 ash pieces in front of
:: the bulkhead. They extend through the aft end of the
:: V-berth to the hull to which they are securely tabbed.
:: I've seen no signs of deck compression under the mast.

:: :: Hi: Dave:
:: ::
:: :: The rig of you boat is compressing through the deck and
:: :: warping the upper horizontal bridge of support.
:: ::
:: :: The legs which hold up the horizontal support on the
:: :: front side of the bulkhead may also be warping . . .and
:: :: the bulkhead in plane can itself warp and buckle.
:: ::
:: :: The first 30 boats all suffered this compression issue .
:: :: . . where the legs of the support do not tranverse the
:: :: flat plane of the V-berth all the way down to within an
:: :: inch of the hull. Your's may or may not. Mine do now.
:: ::
:: :: I had the horizontal wood pieces fore and aft removed,
:: :: the vertical legs removed, new full length legs forward,
:: :: partial legs aft.
:: ::
:: :: Beefy'er timber was used on the Deperado's upgrade. Some
:: :: people simply sandwiched the bulkhead with two pieces of
:: :: marine plywood.
:: ::
:: :: A jack is sometimes used to push the bulk head
:: :: upstraight again prior to regluing the new beefy'er
:: :: supports.

:: :: :: I've got a small crack in my bulkhead. Anyone else seen
:: :: :: similar problems? I've got some ideas of how to fix it,
:: :: :: but want to see if anyone else has some prior experience
:: :: :: with this repair on these boats.
