I assume you are using Harken cam cleats and surprised you are having failures, I used the same cleats for several years on an Olson 30 with a much larger sail area and never had a failure. If it is timing of the release on the tacks causing the failure it may be saving you damage to the sails and the cam cleats are a lot cheaper to replace than sails.
