Jason is right about the ratchet tie-down straps. I remember seeing a picture of a J24 that ended up on top of the car towing it after a panic stop. Rope may be okay for short hauls to winter storage, but it stretches and loosens up. The tie-down straps are available at Home Depot for a very reasonable price. IMO two are enough.
