Chris....we got a waiver on the 18" rule last year. Just FYI.

:: Thanks Zac for posting the schedule and allowing some
:: vital input. The SSS series is a low cost series, which
:: is growing in popularity among E27 owners; with no date
:: conflicts, why not support it?
::
:: Spinnaker Cup would be better choice for the an ocean
:: race over Crewed Farallones as both these events require
:: boats to meet NorCaLORC Equipment List which includes
:: among other items “18 inch Lifelines” and it take time
:: to get the boat ready.
::
:: Spinnaker Cup is the beginning of a 3-day weekend, which
:: give everyone time to get the boat back and set up for
:: ditch run the following weekend as opposed to only one
:: day to get the boats back from Stockton, step the rig
:: and set the boat for a series ocean race. Just too
:: aggressive!
::
:: It would be great to get Spinnaker Cup back on the
:: schedule, as MPYC has been very supported of the E27
:: fleet. Five years in a row MPYC formally offered to host
:: the E27 Nationals in Monterey Bay as well as invitations
:: to the prestigious Dolphin Cup Regatta originally
:: created for the Santa Cruz 50 & 52 fleets. The E27 fleet
:: never responded to MPYC invites so they gave up.
::
:: If owners are willing to make the journey to do Double
:: Dam the fleet should recognized and support their effort
:: and give them credit in the results. This also includes
:: Trans -Tahoe and The High Sierra Regatta
::
:: Thanks for you hard work.
::
::
:: :: All,
:: ::
:: :: Below is the schedule that I have been working on. I
:: :: welcome and want feedback. But in the end I am going to
:: :: make a call based on what believe is best for the fleet.
:: ::
:: :: My goals with our schedule are as follows.
::
:: :: 1. No overlapping regattas (never split the fleet)
::
:: :: 2. Get maximum turnout and make the season competitive
::
:: :: 3. Roughly one LD and Bouy race a month from March to
:: :: October.
::
:: :: 4. Keep the total entry costs for the season around
:: :: $1000
::
:: :: 4. Support the YC that is hosting Nationals
::
:: :: 5. Don't overlap with regattas that pull our crews away
:: :: (RBBS, J70 Worlds, Express 37 Nationals, Moore 24
:: :: Nationals)
:: ::
:: :: Remember that the scoring rules for the fleet require
:: :: that you have to attend at least half of the races for
:: :: the either the Championship (Buoy) or Deeds Trophy (Long
:: :: Distance) series to qualify.
:: ::
:: ::
:: :: January 30 Three Bridge Fiasco SSS (Long Distance &
:: :: Championship)

:: :: February 28 Express 27 Tuning Clinic #1 RYC
